Methodology

The aim is to encourage and maintain a strong research dynamic on mobility by emphasizing the formulation of problems, constraints and experiences on the one hand and the current objectives as well as the fruits of public and private research on the other hand. This should permit to bring out the priorities in terms of investment and define new investigation areas.

The forum is structured around 3 stages devoted to expression and dialogue:
  • a time to share experiences and formulate questions. This moment will be devoted to local and regional authorities in charge of mobility in cities and territories… . Well-known cities, new towns and territories will present their experience to their counterparts, researchers and the public.
  • a time to assess the mobility policies that have been implemented and the research and cooperation programmes in the field of mobility. Researchers and civilians will present the results and conclusions of their work to other researchers and participants in charge of mobility policies.
  • a time for cross reflection during scheduled informal meetings amongst the present actors. These meetings should initiate new types of cooperation between a city and a local authority or between several authorities and researchers or research managers.

The Forum is expected to generate new types of international cooperation between local authorities and researchers, based on the identification of unsatisfied expectations, on themes that have not been treated and on unexploited research avenues.

This international meeting will also be an opportunity to assess, every two years, the results of the implemented cooperation, research programmes, policies, actions and practices.
